"Minusinskiy Yablochnyy" (Minusinsk Apple) is a famous, large-fruited heirloom tomato variety originally bred by folk selection in the cold Minusinsk region of Siberia, Russia
Key Characteristics
Fruit Type & Size: It produces massive, meaty beefsteak tomatoes that are round, slightly flattened, or apple-shaped. Fruits typically weigh between 300 to 600 grams, but under optimal care, giant specimens can exceed 1 to 1.5 kg. Depending on the specific strain selection, the color is usually a deep scarlet red or pink
Flavor Profile: It is highly praised by home gardeners for its rich, "classic childhood" tomato flavor. The flesh is exceptionally dense, sugary, and meaty (with very few seeds and low water content), yielding a sweet taste balanced by a very mild hint of acidity
