Minusinskij (Минусинский) refers primarily to Minusinsk tomatoes (Минусинские томаты) — a famous family of heirloom tomato varieties originating from the town of Minusinsk in the Krasnoyarsk Krai of Siberia, Russia
Origin: Bred and adapted by local gardeners in the sunny, microclimatic basin of Minusinsk, known for hot summers and cool nights.
Plant Type: Mostly indeterminate (tall vines growing 1.8 to over 2 meters, requiring staking and pruning).
Fruit Size & Shape: Famous for massive size (frequently weighing 300g to 1 kg+, with record specimens exceeding 1.5–2 kg) and diverse shapes—including heart-shaped (Bull's Heart / Volovye Serdtse), ribbed beefsteaks, long pepper-shaped, and cylinder/glass-shaped (Stakany).
Flavor & Texture: Dense, meaty, richly sweet, and traditional heirloom-flavored, ideal for fresh salads, juices, and sauces.
Hardiness: Good cold-tolerance and adaptability to northern or Siberian short-season climates
